The FastRehab program attacks your ankle sprain from three angles simultaneously — eliminating swelling, rebuilding strength, and restoring the sensors that prevent future re-injury.
How it works
Most ankle rehab programs treat the injury one-dimensionally. They either rest it, ice it, or do generic exercises — but never all three of the things that actually need to happen. FastRehab attacks all three simultaneously.
A specific backwards treadmill-walking technique at incline shifts your body weight to move pooled blood out of the ankle fast — without pain. This alone cuts recovery time in half compared to rest and ice alone.
One inexpensive piece of equipment targets the exact ligaments and muscles that were damaged — simultaneously restoring strength and range of motion so nothing is missed.
Restores proprioception — the sensors that tell your brain where your ankle is. This is the piece almost everyone skips. Without it, the ankle keeps giving way. With it, re-sprains stop happening.
Day by day
Here's what your recovery looks like from the moment you start the program.
Ice the ankle until numb, then walk backwards up the treadmill incline at 1–1.5 mph. Repeat 4–6 cycles. Also do the alphabet exercise with your big toe while icing — small movements in cold water speed lymphatic drainage significantly. Most people notice swelling dropping visibly within the first session.
Once swelling is down and you can bear weight, begin seated wobble board rotations — 25–30 clockwise, 25–30 counterclockwise. Do this while watching TV. Both ankles, every session. 15 minutes morning, 15 minutes evening.
Progress from seated to standing with partial weight on the wobble board. Add calf raises — both feet first, then single-leg as strength allows. Increase reps each session. The ankle should feel noticeably more stable by end of day.
Balance full body weight on the wobble board. Add 2×4 calf raises. By now most people are walking normally with little or no pain. The ankle is noticeably stronger and more stable than before the injury.
Continue increasing intensity on the wobble board and calf raises. Most people are walking fully normally by Day 5 and ready to resume light activity. Use the Return to Sport Checklist (included as Bonus #5) before going back to full competition.
